Default New member / hope to become a new owner

I just became a new member, and hope to become a new owner in the not too distant future.

Some history: My father owned an MG TD and a Jaguar Mark VII when I was growing up, which left me with good mechanical skills and a lifelong love for British cars. Currently, we have a Triumph TR4 that's been with us for 23 years. About 13 years ago I branched out into Alfa Romeos, which somehow makes sense as a balancing influence. I just sold one of the Alfas, and need to fill an empty parking spot. My wife of 36 years tells me I've been talking about owning a Jaguar since she met me, and it's time to scratch that itch.

We are very active in local car club tours, and decided that a nice 2-/3+ driver quality Mk 2 is exactly what we need. Being in Austin, I'm hoping to find one with A/C, or have enough left in my budget to get A/C installed so we can use it during the summer.

I look forward to learning a lot from this forum, and maybe even some leads on finding the right car.

Appreciate the warm welcome and advice. I'll post a WTB note as soon as I get through the newbie probationary period.

Thanks Jim. I've been struggling thinking about how to come up with a few more worthwhile posts.

Just dive in and have some fun buddy.

It doesn't all have to be technical and worthwhile
There are many tech and model specific sections, but also loads going on in the off topic section. Why not help to welcome a few newbies to the site too?

Make yourself known in your regional section and see who's about.......you'll soon get more than a few posts under your belt I assure you...lol

Best

Jim

Welcome Dean to the best Jaaaag forum in town. As Jim stated, the off topic thread is a great place to rack up posts...
