Default New member intro

G'day Folks

Probably not so unusual but my need for membership is sort of based on Jag ownership.

Sort of as I am referring to use of Jag running gear in an AC Cobra.

Sorry if I upset the purists but I guess there is a lot of jag set ups under like cars hot rods and so forth.

Anyway I've a problem I will raise under the XJ6 area but for the moment I thought I'd say howdy.

I do actually like the jags and had a passion for the model as used in the Sweeny series. Perhaps someone here can enlighten me as to what model those cars were.

Cheers

Steve

Welcome to the forum Steve,

Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.

We have members here with alternative engines and transmissions in Jaguars and Jaguar powertrains in other models so you are not alone.

Is this the image from The Sweeney that you remember?

The original S Type produced from 1963-68.

As well as the tech section for your powertrain, you can also visit the Australia / New Zealand Region forum by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/australia-new-zealand-51/ to find other members in your part of the World.

Enjoy the forums.

Graham

Welcome to forum. I've just spent 3 weeks rebuilding an XJ6 IRS. I may be able to answer some questions. I know where to source all the parts now.
Mordialloc,is that sort of residential/industrial near Mornington Peninsula?

Thanks too Clarke.

Am guessing there might not be too much difference between diffs or am I wrong?

Anyway the inner drive shaft studs are actually bolts I've discovered.

However to replace a bolt, the drive flange I assume has to be at least partly pulled out of the diff housing.

There certainly isn't enough room to slide a similar sized bolt back into place, with all fittings in their usual place.

I know as I've given this my best shot for half of the day today.

Any feedback you can offer would be tremendous.

Cheers

Steve
