New Member Intro
Name is Richard. I am a Jaguar/Chevy enthusiast and have been for many years. Took and 79 XJ6 and swapped in a Chevy small block 400 truck motor. My son glommed on to this because he enjoyed sneaking up on muscle cars and showing them what for. Blew that one up. I later took an 83 with a great interior and swapped in an 85 Camaro long runner 350 built to 383 with the 700r-4. Did a few other mods. The car was everything I'd hoped for [except for the a/c which I did not manage to hook up]. Decent mileage, loafing at highway speed, and power when and where you need it. Just wonderful. It's life was cut short by a blow from an old pickup loaded with "stuff" destined for Mexico. Thought it was just some cosmetic damage but was told by the body shop that the frame was bent and it would be cheaper to start with another donee than fix this one. I found a very nice 87 and the 83 and 87 have been sitting side-by-side in the garage for years waiting for me to recover from the original loss and to finish other projects. Lots of boat projects too: 1986 Hunter 31' sailboat, 1982 Bayliner 2450 [fishing], 1989 Wellcraft 170 [skiing], 1960s era 12' Montgomery Wards aluminum.
