Hello from Kuwait,

Well, I am not (and have never been) a Jag owner yet but I am seriously considering becoming one (99.99%).
I am an European expat living&working in Kuwait and although been driving Japanese cars all my life (I will turn 58 next month) I have always admired Jaguar, ever since I was a kid.

So, the other day I was driving past the used car place and had one of those 'must have it' moments. It was a pristine looking 2004 XJR (see the pictures), which is not unusual thing for cars in Kuwait due to the specific weather conditions, i.e. hot and very dry, that make things like corrosion an unknown phenomenon here regardless of the car age.

This jag doesn't have a scratch on its body, it has a beautiful burgundy/black leather upholstery, it has 196,000 km on the clock, engine starts and runs quietly, there are no warning lights on the instrument cluster and this is as far as I got while talking to a salesman.

Now, I have read most of this forum posts, including the 'what to look for...'
but I would still appreciate your thoughts, should I go for it?

Welcome.

Mate, I did that in 1968, and I have never looked back.

Yet to have an R, maybe one day?.

Thanks mate,
In my current state of mind I think I am gonna go for it even if that means having it parked in my living room (and I have thought about it carefully) and regret it eventually.
Cheers!

That's the spirit! Throw caution to the wind and just go for it! Enjoy!

Welcome to the forum brokik,

Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.

It sounds like you've already found your way to the X350 forum so there's no need for a link to it from me.
The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues.

Go for it or you could have a lot of those "I only wish I'd ....." moments in future!

Enjoy the forums.

Graham

Thanks Graham and all the other members who replied to my initial post.
I think I have made up my mind so I 'm gonna go get it first thing next week.
I am fully aware of the "I only wish I'd ....." moments that may lie ahead, but this beauty is too hard to resist and price is a proper bargain which could offset any moments mentioned above.
I will have you lot updated (and seek help, of course) should they arise.

Cheers
Boris
