After lurking on the forum, the last few months, I have joined.
I bought a 2000 sapphire blue, XJ8 Vanden Plas 4.0L last May at an estate sale without doing any research on the car. Pure impulse buy.
The car is immaculate with 40,127 miles on the odometer. Showroom condition.
Then after reading the forum, I became paranoid about secondary cam tensioners, so I threw a cover on it and left it for an autumn activity.
Plan to pull the valve cover in the next month to see if they have been replaced.
Forums like these are one of life's pleasures. So much information.
