New Member from New Mexico USA
Hello all,
I found this forum from an internet search and wanted to join for the awesome vast knowledge of these vehicles. I have owned in the past a 1991 Jaguar XJ6 Sovereign. It was a pretty good car, gave me a little trouble but I fixed it - Brake issues. I just last week purchased a 2011 Jaguar XF with the V8 N/A. I must say, this car is everything I have wanted in a car, just didn't know that this car was the one. ha ha.. The stock V8 power is impressive - especially in Sport mode with the Dynamic mode engaged. The handling is super impressive for the size of car. The comfort of the drive is unlike anything else I have driven or owned - this is my number one I would have to say. The styling is awesome. The rotating vents and lifting shifter dial are unique to this era of Jaguar - they innovated that, most awesomely. ( is that even a word - it should be ) The gas mileage, i got 25mpg on the freeway here in New Mexico and we are over 5000ft above sealevel - could not ask for more especially with a 385hp engine.
I guess you could say, i really like the car. It's got a few miles, 90,000, but does not look or run like a high mileage vehicle. It still feels tight. I have the premium edition which has 19" wheels and a nicely equipt options package. It is so fun to pull up next to a Mustang GT and leave it in the dust. The car doesn't have that aggressive look to it, probably because of the beige/gold color. It sure surprises people on the performance.
Like others here, I plan to "drive the wheels off it". Such an underestimated car. In fact, I haven't seen another one in town yet - yet alone many Jaguars in Albuquerque, NM where I am at.
I'll attach some pictures of it here when I get a better signal for my phone.
Thanks,
Bill

I know what you mean, It has all the features you want before you want it. I finally got the real plate for mine on Monday. I was driving on the temporary plate before that so I was keeping a low profile. Not that I wouldn't normally. I can imagine what a ticket would do to my insurance. But at least a real license plate won't make the cops look any harder than they normally would. Lol.
Anyway, welcome to the forum, and smoke a few Mustangs for me, And one particular 2003 Thunderbird if you run into him. Lol.

No sir, I've spent most of my life in the midwest with short stints on both coasts. Ten or fifteen years on each. I've been through Albuquerque a few times. Very beautiful part of the country in it's own right.
I've owned a 1986 Corvette for many years. I used to drive it on the interstates all the time. It would get 26 MPG with a 20 gallon gas tank so about 500 miles in range. It performed very well but as time went by and technology marched on it became slow compared to newer cars. I ran into a real jerk one day in a new Thunderbird. Of course I could do the same to him with my Jag. Too bad I didn't have it that day. Cars are kinda like an arms race anymore. Lol.
