Hello,

My name is Bill, I'm new to the forum but not new to Jaguars. I just picked up an 06 XJ8 with 45k, it's got XJR grilles, Navi and Bluetooth. Ebony/Cashmere.

I've been around Jags pretty much all my life but have been on hiatus for a few years. I'm the guy who did the original XJ40 pages on Jag Lovers.org

I'm a used car manager at a Toyota store so I managed to snag this one from Jag credit at auction which is nice. Oddly, I'm in NJ, my store is in NY and I bought the car at a wholesale auction in Nashville. Meanwhile the car was a lease return out of Long Island! Go figure...

I know.. I need to take some pics Those are shamelessly stolen from the auction website I bought the car from, they're Jaguar Credit's pics and were taken at the recon shop at Manheim Nashville.

ITS GOT PAINTWORK! :P

Is yours the one that went for $21.4k?

So you know the grille and bluetooth + xenons are standard for 06, your other option i notice is heated seats. Heated seats and navigation are the main 2 to go for, ive been looking quite a lot but im picky and it seems all the ones i find with those 2 options are rougher then a night in jail. Oh well mine (1 or 2) will come along soon enough

Welcome tho, enjoy it!

LOL There's no paintwork on the body, but the bumpers were done at the auction allegedly due to scuffs. Decent work, a bit above colors on parade, below what the shop that I use would do.

I paid $21,400 plus fees and $400 to ship it to NY from Nashville. Ended up being $22,175 with shipping. $21,400 (I figured you looked at MMR) was about a grand high I suppose, but I needed a car NOW and it had to be Black so it's not the end of the world. I had it at work on Sunday and a customer taking delivery of a new Camry XLE was just drooling over it... if they only knew...

This one's really a straight car, a few others I found locally on the wholesale market were rough.. paintwork, stunk of smoke, etc (I smoke a pack a day and if the smell bothers me...) if a bit fat on the miles, the wheels are nice, according to the Cond Report they refinished 2 of them but they did a darned good job of it. It does need brakes so I need to call WorldPAC and get some pads and rotors for it.

It's got the full cold package, heated F+R seats and steering wheel, that and Navi, which was a must.

Welcome Bill ! I have a dealer friend who buys at the Manheim Nashville site. I plan to go with him soon to check out the cars there. How was the selection of Jauguars there when you purchased yours?

Rob,

I'm in New York and bought it on OVE, Looks like it's a relatively small sale, the big Jaguar sales are at Manheim, PA, West Palm and in Los Angeles. If you have access, you should be able to get pre-sale lists on manheim's website.
