Hello,
I used to have a '94 XJ6 and bought it for dirt cheap, fixed it up just a little bit and sold it for twice what I paid - imagine that! I love the XJ body style, and I'm looking for a very nice (see: no work needed to drive and operate normally) 2000-2003 XJR, but would possible consider a up to an '07 XJR if it made sense, but I don't really like the different sized headlights on those newer ones and if it ever got any body damage, I'm pretty sure aluminum would be more expensive to repair than steel.
So, I'm searching for one now, hope to find the right one and possibly make a purchase this fall. Another thing I don't like about the '04 and up XJ is the screen in the dash. After having newer tech in my 2017 car, I couldn't go back to a primitive screen and function, so the normal radio with buttons is what I want. And the best wheels ever (the seven spoke wheels, but hopefully not chromed).
Any suggestions would be wonderful, I'm still learning about the XJR and the problems they have and things to look out for.

Hello,
You're SO right about aluminium body being *Very* expensive to repair.
A member of my Jaguar club got a "small" dent (about 8 inches) just behind the driver door on his '09 XK, which cost more than $6000 to repair! I saw it before repair and I was Shocked at the price quote as Steel would have been maybe a few hundred at most.
Basically, the whole entire rear quarter from the door back to the tail light, up to the window and down to the wheel well had to be removed and replaced with a new panel. You can't tell now that it's finished, even the paint is a perfect match, but WOW@ the cost!
I hope you find The One Jaguar, of any model, that's right for you.
