Welcome to the forum Andy,

Congratulations on the VDP and it's good to hear you've already found useful information here.

At fifteen years old, you've got to expect the VDP needs a few 'upgrades'

1997 covers three models - the last of the six cylinder X300, the X305 and the first of the V8 X308 - which do you have?

It has the last of the 6-cyl (X300). Yeah I have the dreaded "oval" in my rear-view mirror now, so that will be removed and sent to be fixed, cupholders have plastic hinges that are broken, intermittent radio (will wait on that for an aftermarket upgrade when I get around to it), a cracked front bumper marker, and the key fob that came with the car needs to be reprogrammed...

I have found solutions to each and every one of those problems listed above on here. The wealth of information is unbelievable and I can't say thank you enough.

Signature is added...

Apart from being one of the most polite and generally decent forums I've ever come across it also has IMHO the richest mine of Jaguar info.
Enjoy it!

I am working in Toronto (just moved here). Before that, I lived and went to school in Cincinnati.

Hey you can't blame me for wanting to do just that! You know the VDP is one of the best commuting car. The ride is just so smoooooth!

And the average commute time is 9 hours, give and take... and depending on border traffic of course.

Actually, the cat stays in Ohio mostly, where it is licensed. I take the Green Train named GO Transit to work here.

I'm here in T.O. now, but don't know for how much longer at this point.
