Smile New member, Old STR

Hi all. New to the forum and first time jaguar owner.
Recently bought a 2002 STR. 120k miles, Black (fully colour coded) with original STR wheels in black and black/red leather trim.
I am looking to get a better sound from my STR and posted on another thread looking for a caldoofy stage 1 air intake. Are these still available does anybody know or can someone help with this?
I've read a good bit here already on various problems, different modifications and just general talk on the STR before joining the forum or even buying the car.
I've removed the flap from the air box and added a new k&n panel filter and after reading a bit about it here would like to add this caldoofy stage 1 cold air intake. I've also got the car booked in to the local exhaust guy for some custom tail pipes to start (will add full system later).
I'm hoping to get the sound from the car I would like with these simple mods then plan next to try for a bit better performance by changing supercharger pulley and adding to exhaust. Then depending on how far I get carried away and cost I may possibly add a twin screw as suggested in another thread.
Any further advice or info on mods, maintenance, problems etc would be much appreciated as I know a lot of you guy have experienced most of it already with the STR.
Thanks, look forward to your replies.
Steven

Welcome to the forum Steven,

Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.

You should get a reply from caldoofy if you post in his air intake threads - he was last on the forum two days ago.

I can see you've already found your way to the S-Type tech forum so there's no need for a link to it from me.
The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for info on regular issues.

Please remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

You can also visit the UK & Eire Region forum by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/uk-eire-68/
to find other members in your region.

Enjoy the forums.

Graham

Hi all and thanks for the warm welcome.
I've been in contact with caldoofy so i'm one step closer to attaining possession of one of his stage 1 cold air intakes for my STR.
I'll get round to updating vehicle info etc at some point.
Glad I've come to the forum as I've learnt a few things so far from previous threads and found a lot of the info very helpful.

Thanks again all,

Steven

Hi all.
Been very busy with other things.
Got the tail pipes done and car sounds awsome!
Still think I'd like to get a bit more exhaust noise so going to change the rest out I think.
Any more suggestions please???
Cheers

Quick update.
Just thought I would stick a couple of photos up of the rear Tailpipes I had fitted.
Excuse the dirt etc as the weather is terrible here and the gritters have been out on force spreading grit/salt.

Plenty of tread on the rear tyres - sounds like you're going to need it!

Caldoofy cold air intake arrived and installed today.
Easy to install, taking under 20 minutes.
Noticeable difference in performance and great enhancement on supercharger whine.
Thanks caldoofy

Steven,

You should post this in S-Type tech forum. Useful information for other owners and caldoofy would appreciate the endorsement.
