Hi all, just bought a 1999 XKR Convertable 2 weeks ago, 91,000 miles on the clock. Picked it up on the Saturday afternoon and drove approx 50 miles when the serpentine belt decided to start shreading itself and tore through the oil cooler pipe. Had to get it towed on the Sunday back to the garage. £150 for the tow. Garage fixed it under warranty. Not a good start but I just love it. Have since fitted the rear straight through pipes with twin tail pipes from Adamesh, love the sound. The other half has an XF 3ltr Diesel and I have had 2 X Types. one a 3ltr V6 AWD and a 2.2 Diesel, just love Jags. Had the V6 for about two years when the rear transfer box started whining, Like a mug I traded it in for a Mecedes 2.2 CDi Sports Coupe. Hated it. Traded that in six months later for the X Type 2.2 Diesel. and that was subsequently traded for the XF. Always wanted an E Type but sadly could never afford one, got the next best thing now though.

Congratulations on your 'new' XKR!
Yup. There's no accounting for the affection these cars instill in us! No accounting at all.

Welcome to the forums from ElinorB.
