Hello,
Please find this intro of a Jaguar enthusiast with the happy ownership since February of a XK 5.0 2010 coupé. Black on black portfolio.
The picture below was taken on the way back from France where I had helped my brother get to NL because of French strikes. A great excuse to have to make a France round trip in 24 hours.
The toll booth stops followed by acceleration are a great addition to experiencing the car on longer stretches of highway.
The petrolhead virus was installed by my French grandfather and his love for the Mercedes sedans of the 60’s (hekflosse) so after my first car Peugeot 1985 505 GTD (light brown metallic as only the French can do and a 1982 Mercedes 230CE coupé I was finally able to make a big step into this world.
before making the decision which models to look into. I read quite a few threads here on the XK(R) 150 2007-2009 version vs the XK facelift post 2010. So I am happy to say I can finally be here with a car.
first work on the car were new discs all around as they were rusted because of not using the car enough. But otherwise diagnostics were as solid as my enthusiasm, the plastic tubing and water pump all looked in good order.

I can see you've already found your way to the XK/XKR forum so there's no need for a link to it from me. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues. You can also use the Europe Region forum by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/europe-42/ to find other members in your region.
Hello Remy,
Congratulations on your First Jaguar!
Ya know, you wouldn't have to put on new discs just because they're a ;little rusty (Unless they're pitted). That flying trip to France and back, and a few others like it will polish them up Just Fine!
Of course, I also understand how you might just want to put something new on the car. Boy Howdy do I understand that!
Many thanks for the congratulations! The car is so great and this community on top of it it’s a lot of fun and both do so more then I had expected even.
True re putting something new. Thank you for your understanding re human behaviour. It sounds like you have some elements to share but I will let you at your discretion.
in that department I did enige and gearbox oil change. Particularly given the knowledge on this forum and importance for engine oil for the 5.0.
I considered the gearbox oil change in that extra department (did it at 110.000km) I think the recommendation is 135k.
The discs were indeed pitted badly (inside only) and it gave a mighty rumble and steer wobble at breaking. Decided that new was better then having them revised. But it did take the way to France for the new brakes to feel as grippy as they should (especially because the rusty ones were like throwing out an anchor)
Kind regards, Remy

Quick question I indeed tried to get the car details in my signature but I only found the Biography field which is limited in characters. Perhaps if someone could tell me where to find the signature I would gladly populate
