Hi gents,

Thanks for the replies and plenty of info to sift through. Luckily there isn't any issues to deal with straight away. I do want to upgrade the stereo to connect to an ipod and am looking for a fascia adaptor. Any ideas as they seem as rare as rocking horse poo.

Thanks,

Jody

There's plenty of discussion and some tremendous solutions been posted. Try this link for a start:

Once you've decided on the preferred replacement headunit, if you can't find an installation solution by forum search, post the question in XK8/XKR section or Audio/Visual Electronics section.

Hi Graham,

Thanks for the links to the audio pages. I'v gleamed a lot of information and looks like I can get an interface between a new stereo and the steering wheel controls which is great.

I've also spoken to Kevin at DesignXKR and have the option of having a walnut panel with a DIN sized whole.

Some great options and only a few days now till I pick her up. Excitement is mounting.

Thanks,

Jody

The technology is getting more straightforward and it's the appearance of the replacement installation is now the greatest challenge. Bespoke walnut panel sounds good.

Don't forget to post pics of the XKR when it arrives.

I'll post pics for sure, first trip on the way home will likely be to a very good friend of mine who goes by the name of "Buff Daddy" and details cars from time to time. Dodo Juice even named their orbital polisher after him:

Dodo Juice Buff Daddy Orbital Machine Polisher | FREE UK Delivery

Think we'll give it a quick once over if weather permits and then when we have a dry Saturday we'll spent a good day pampering her.
