Default New Member, tinkering with WDS

Hello, I am a new member. Based in Los Angeles. I don't actually own a Jaguar but I do buy/sell/repair various scan tool makes/models. Recently picked up a couple WDS units and I am going through them doing repairs. Most of the information available for them is posted on this forum so, here I am! I am 35, disabled veteran of the US Marines (ground support equipment) and I just finished my 3rd year of a chemical engineering degree. My experience repairing and upgrading obsolete scan tools will allow me to meaningfully contribute to the topic while I get some help from other members with the things that are hanging me up. Hope that sums things up well enough. Thanks.

Welcome to the forum ToolAfterlife,

Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.

Discussion on WDS / IDS / SDD is in General Tech Help forum rather than in specific model forums.

Enjoy the forums.

Graham

Thanks for the welcome GGG. I'm ready to hit the ground running. Accidentally made my first post on one of the WDS threads already, trying to help a member with an issue he was having.

I've been hands on with the entire Chrysler line of tools for several years. Their Starscan scanner in addition to my work with the OTC Pegisys and the PerkinElmer Nexus-Pmd fiberoptic test set gives me a great deal of insight into the WDS platform.

I am hoping to do a few how-to write ups for troubleshooting the most common problems and cost effective solutions or a work around with alternative parts where necessary.

To be clear though, I am not offering any type of service or parts. I'll simply list what I used and approximate prices I paid. I have way too many of my own projects =).
