Default New member from Wisconsin, Hello!

Hello, Just bought my first Jaguar a month ago, I know it's not as exciting as the other new members recently with their F-types and such, but I picked up a 2005 S-type 3.0 with all the bell's and whistles that's in amazing shape, so clean and everything works! It has 87,000 miles which is not too bad I guess for a car that's 13 years old.
I used to work at a Jaguar dealer here in Wisconsin about 12 years ago in the parts department, and I have always loved these cars, so it is pretty exciting for me!
And here's where it takes a turn, I may have taken a gamble because the check engine light is on due to small evap leak(smoke test had no leaks) that I will eventually hunt down (found a lot of info on your forum) and i'm also noticing an occasional shifting issue about once a week if i accelerate a bit heavier than normal between 1st and second gear. Driving normal is as smooth as butter. I know, problems already on my introduction...not good but It came with an 12 month warranty for engine and transmission so I'm not too worried..but its always on my mind when I'm driving.
I'm definately a DIY'er I like to work on cars (I'm Originally from New Zealand so I've got that Kiwi Ingenuity)
Oh and the car was a originally a jaguar corporate vehicle and has had one owner with an extensive service history, just not sure on the details of those though.
Well, just thought I would say Hi from my Jag and I, I'm sure I'll have a lot of inquiries on how to fix the problems that arise if and when they do, and I'd like to help others with their problems too, if I can help.
I'll upload a few pics soon if anyone cares, shes a beaut.

Welcome to the forum ForwardJag,

Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.

It sounds like you've already found the relevant model forum but if not, follow this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/s...ed-v8-x200-15/ to the S-Type forum for help, advice and information.
The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues.

Please remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

You can also visit the US Midwest Region forum by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/us-midwest-39/

Welcome.

Nothing wrong withe the mighty S Type.

Ia m not a fan of the F Type, but if that rocks your boat, well done.

I get lots of attention when out in the MK10, especially when it fails to proceed in a forward direction, oops.
