Hi. This is my first Jaguar. I have been an automobile enthusiast since childhood. I have owned a number of enthusiast cars including BMW M3s, an M5 and a Porsche. But no Jaguars until now. I had been too afraid of reliability concerns and the performance of Jaguars never seemed to compare well to the competition from Bavaria. The XFR has changed all that. I never thought that another sedan could get me out of my BMW except another BMW. But BMW seems to have lost its way. Their cars have steadily grown in size and weight, and only the M versions seem to carry on what had been the BMW tradition of sportiness. The XFR is as good as any M5 and yet more comfortable, with a more luxurious interior that exudes quality. Anyway, I hope the XFR enthusiast community is as interesting and informative as those for that other brand.

Thanks for the welcome. I think what swayed me was this video: YouTube - Jaguar XFR review - Top Gear - BBC

Yeah, I know that Clarkson doesn't exactly give unbiased opinions, but it sure was awesome seeing him dice with that e60 M5.

My kids also tell me that getting this car is a sign of me getting old....But is it wrong to expect luxury along with performance? I think not!
