I have just signed up but have been browsing for many years. I own a convertible XK8 - built in October 1996 (I have seen the various signatures on quality control labels when taking bits of trim off!) and have owned it for around seven years. During that time I have replaced 2nd gen tensioners, various front and rear bushes (some to poly bush) and completed minor jobs like soldering the ABS unit. I'm no mechanic but enjoy repairing things where I can. Although I have only just joined I recognise many of you through your prolific postings and wise expertise.

Although the car has been generally reliable, I have enjoyed the experience of drilling out front subframe bolts on my back on the driveway - or angle grinding off the alternator bolt underneath a car that seems to sit extremely low!

Please remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.
