Default New owner of a 2007 xkr

Hello My name is Rob. Im from San Antonio Texas in the United States of America. I found a 2007 Jaguar XKR on Facebook marketplace that looked amazing but knowing little about the car I was a little hesitant. After test driving it though I was sold. For 7000 dollars I drove the car home. Little did I know I was in way over my head. immiedietly after getting the car I wanted to take it to get a car wash and now I have a broken antenna. I didn't know I needed to turn off the radio to retract it. Then after driving it for a few days, one night it decided to die dramatically by flashing its lights and slowly fading. I believe it has to do something with the alternator. I took it to a local shop in town called Victors. Im hoping to hear back from them soon about the state of everything. Wish me luck
This is me with my car for the first time.

Hi Rob and welcome. I am new to the Jaguar experience as well. I just purchased a 2007 XKR. It gets delivered Monday. I was sold the first time I drove one. They are amazing cars. Hope you can work through the kinks and enjoy all it has to offer.
Looking forward to hearing how its progressing!

Hey Tim, That's cool. Nice to meet you. I hope yours is fun and gives you many miles. I probably won't be seeing mine anytime soon as the holiday are about to start. Let me know how your car goes. Hey, Maybe if I get mine running we can meet up since your in Texas too. Get the Jags together!

Hello, Rob,
Congratulations on your First Jaguar! I'm so sorry you're getting the Baptism by Fire though.
If you haven't already found your way there, someone will be along soon to direct you to the correct section where you can find help and assistance.

Welcome to the forums from ElinorB.

So far I am another $1300 down. had to get a new battery and the mechanic quoted me $1075 to get the alternator running again. Pau, told me he was going to rebuild it rather than get one from china. although I was tempted to just do that myself , I have confidence they know what they are doing.

Confidence in your mechanic is worth its weight in gold!
If that person continues to deliver, KEEP THEM ON RETAINER!
