Default New S-Type owner

Hello Everyone. Just want to say hello and share the joy. Just a brief bit of background, I have just acquired a 12 year old S-Type, 3L, V6 Sport Petrol. Def love at first sight! Full cranberry leather interior, Sat Nav, AC, Really is a lovely car with some serious POWER! However, it was bought of a family friend who lost enthusiasm for it because it developed some faults. After referring her to my mechanic a while back, he looked over it and assisted with the problems a year or so back, however they were not resolved. After a discussion with the mechanic (only a few weeks back) I said do you think I should go for it and try to get the issues resolved. He was confident it could be done. The car keeps going into 'Limp home mode', mechanic said his jag boys told him to clean out the TPS, if not resolved, replace it. We have done that last week (full replacement), only for Limp mode to still be a problem. Jag is back with him, think he said must be a faulty ECU somewhere. I'm hoping it not going to be a big financial burden. Wish me luck!

Jaguars do make people fall in love with them -- or hate them forever. There seems to be no middle ground.

People over in the S-type section will be able to better answer your questions.

Welcome from ElinorB.

Welcome to Jaguar Forums ManoFlem,

I can see you are already getting help in the S-Type tech section so no need for a link.

Please remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

Enjoy the forums.

Graham
