Hellp, All.

I'm a Northern Californian with a small condo in South Florida. Just bought a 2001 S-Type last year to have and drive around the South Florida area when I'm there. Got a nice deal from a neighbor, although a major alternator/water pump disaster set me back a few bucks last week. Now it's good again and I'm looking forward to a lot more drives. Nice forum, with lots of good details here!

Welcome to the forums cgpiper,

We don't hear of many alternator failures but water pumps are a regular.

I can see you've already found your way to the S-Type forum so there's no need for a link to it from me. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues.

Please add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

Enjoy the forums.

Graham

Hello,
Congratulations on your S-type Jaguar!
Such repairs on a 20 year old car are not unexpected although unpleasant. I hope these will be the last you endure for a while.

Welcome to the forums from ElinorB.

From one S-type owner to another... Welcome. The S-type forum is populated with a very friendly group and contains a wealth of knowledge.
