Default New in Texas

Hello. I've been reading the forum a while and finally decided to join. I've found lots of excellent tips on the forum. I've had my 2004 Jaguar Racing Green XK8 convertible for 4 years now and absolutely love it. Jaguar Racing Green, Nav system, 19" wheels, factory phone with 45,000 miles. I'm somewhat a purist, so not fond of aftermarket additions, right down to the oil filter - try to keep it OEM, but sometimes the electronics call for for new approaches - just need to find a way to make it transparent. Anyway, look forward to learning from the verterans!

Welcome to the forum, my BIL is exactly the same with his Cosworth, everything OEM.

Mind you, you may want to look at the roof pressure relief valve mod that some of the XK8 guys have done.

Good to have you with us.

Traded in my horses for my Cat. Jag is the only cat in my life! (more of a dog lover!). XK8 is my daily commute car, but kept the truck for those things you just don't want to carry in a beautiful Jag.

Good to have another Texan join the forum. Be bold to share your Jag experiences, both good and otherwise, even if you are not technically proficient (as I am not). We all will benefit from your imput.

Welcome!

Thanks to everyone for the warm welcome. A few of you mentioned the pressure relief valve. I read Gus' info on it. I had a leak while it was still under warranty and they fixed it. Does anyone know if the pressure relief is a factory recommended fix for the problem? Not sure if I have the fix or need to worry about it.

Hi Jaggrnxk8,

Just noticed that your signature photo is of the exact same car I nearly bought at the weekend in VA - is/was this yours? (or did you just like the photo - that car sure looks great in the photos)

No the valve is not recognized by Jaguar and they have not addressed the problem. Many have installed the device but do not know about any warranty problems. I was going to suggest going to my page and seeing all the info I have on the hyd system but it looks like you have done that.

Well, welcome to the forum!

Please take a moment and read the information provided to you explaining the rules. Be patient and enjoy the site.
