New UK Member
Hi all,
I am a new member based in south London, UK.
I have recently bought a 1986 Series 3 XJ6 Sovereign as a retirement present to myself. It had only covered 14,400 miles from new having had two previous owners who both seem to have spent most of their time of ownership working abroad. I’ve covered more miles in the three months I’ve owned it than it has done in the last three years!
I have looked at this site before and decided to join for the wealth of information on the site and, having discovered it, to buy one of the very useful bonnet stay kits from David84XJ6.

Thank you all for your welcome.
Although the car is in very good overall condition, I have had a few 'teething problems' with it in the short time I've owned it.
These include having to have new fuel tanks fitted as they were found to be full of rust (a consequence of having so little use I guess)
and needing front and back screens taking out to be resealed due to water leaks, so it's been a little expensive so far.
However, I'm enjoying owning and driving it and had factored in the likelihood some expense with a car of this age, just not quite so much at this early stage
Looking forward to delving further into the various areas of the site.
