New UK Member in Cardiff
Greetings all,
Just thought I'd introduce myself with a quick resumè.
I'm Steve from Cardiff, UK. I own a Jaguar X type for my daily drive, but have always yearned for a MK2 since the days of 'Inspector Morse' on the TV, way back in 1987. I have recently been rebuilding a classic mini for my youngest lad to drive when he turns 17 in April, and now this is nearing the end, I was looking for another project. So, a long story short, I now own a Daimler 250 V8, which has a reasonable body, although welding is required, along with rust in the usual places underneath. The engine turns by hand, the interior is quite bad and the rest is all an unknown quantity until I get my scraper out. But my enthusiasm, for now at least, is high. I'm sure it will soon be depleted, along with my remaining bank balance. My intention is to return the car to service, but this will not, unfortunately, be a 100% factory finish. I'll be as sympathetic as funds will allow, but inevitably I will be using non-standard components to complete the job. But rest assured, there'll be no 'customisation'.

Hello, Steve,
Congratulations on your Latest Jaguar!
I agree, paint can be Expensive; one can sink Thousands into paint jobs that, from 100 yards, are nothing special. But you'll have a Lot of fun with it anyway.
Welcome to the forums from ElinorB.
