Default New welsh future owner after xjr300 advise please.

Hi all, like to say hello to everyone as this is my first post here, I'm an early Evo owner at the moment, but ive broke it again and thinking of buying a xjr 300. I wonder what modifications and costs it would take to get it to say around 420bhp and 470lbsft . My car at the moment is 370/360 but only weighs 1250kg so I figure with the extra weight of the Jag that should do me maybe? Any thoughts / advise will be gratefully received. Thanks Rae.

A couple guys here have done some minor mods to the XJR/6 but you're wanting 100 hp increase over stock....and I seriously doubt they've come close to that.

XJRengineer has done quite a bit to his....M112 blower, re-mapped ECU, etc. You can look up his posts and mods.

There's virtually no aftermarket support so any performance mods are done on a you're-on-your-own basis.

Others will chime in.

Cheers
DD

Welcome to the forum Rae,

Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.

I think you could be disappointed if you go from a lightweight Evo to a heavy luxury X300. It's an entirely different package concept and there hasn't been a market demand for really stretching the performance. Any serious performance upgrades will very soon outstrip the original cost of the vehicle.

Follow this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/xj-x300-xjr-26/ to the X300 forum for help, advice and information.
The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for info on regular issues.

You can also visit the UK Region forum by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/uk-68/

Enjoy the forums.

Thanks for all the replies and the welcome, I thought it would be easy for 100bhp extra from the 4ltr with more boost etc as I've got more than that from my 2ltr but as you say no demand so nothing on the market to help?
