Default New XJ-S owner in RIchmond

I just wanted to say hi to everyone. I live in the Richmond, Va area and I'm new to the forum, but I've been looking on it for quite some time, as I've been in the market for an 80s Jag for a couple of yrs. I finally took the plunge and bought an 88 XJS Hess & Eisenhardt with a rebuilt V12 and transmission this past weekend and I'm excited. I'm gonna be on here asking questions, so I thought I'd introduce myself. I look forward to learning everything I can from everyone I can, and, thank you in advance.

Smile Welcome for Newport News!

Welcome to the forum. Love the 1988 XJS styling and that BIG motor.

I recently adopted a wonderful white 01 XJR. I can not begin to say how much I have learned about taking care of my car from reading posts from the other members.

I am just down the road from you in Newport News and regularly get up to Richmond. If you ever need anything, please don't hesitate to touch base.

FYI... there is an annual Concourse for Jaguar owners in Richmond in March. Hope to see you there!

Ray

Hello and welcome to jaguarforums.com. I know that you are anxious to get started and we are anxious to meet you and talk about your car. We have a baseline / criteria that must be met before full access can be granted. Please enjoy the forum and be patient once the baseline has been satisfied full access will be granted. Please continue to post and accept my welcome to the forum.

Oh one other thing you need to put your car details in your signature. I am speaking of the Year, Make & Model. Without it you may not get the input you are looking for.

Please take a moment and read the information provided to you explaining the rules. Be patient and enjoy the site.

Priest, welcome to the forums. As has been mentioned, you will find lots of information here to help your kitty purr. If you ever need any help, let me know. I'm not too far from you (over in Southern MD). Also, keep an eye out for events going on. Never know when a BBQ or something like that might pop up for the members to come together with.

well since it seems im new and cant post a new thread yet id start by asking here since so many people commenting have been here for a while i recently just trated a project truck of mine for an 88 xj6 and im comming to realise these cars are alot diffrent from any truck or car ive ever worked on i changed the starter alternator and the heads but today while driving the car started to make weird noises when i turned the wheel on my way back it started to get easier to turn with more speed and the noise stopped but its still very hard to turn while going slow as if there was no power steering
