Hey all, I’m Mike, I live in the Nashville area and I recently acquired my passion project, a 2009 Jaguar XK 4.2 with 187,000 miles. The previous owner did a fairly good job with maintaining and servicing the car, as it looks good and drives beautifully. Its currently in for inspection and a fluid change from Jaguar, so I’m holding my breath. My father has a 2005 XKR Convertible, and has loved it all the way through 130,000 miles. It’s a family thing I suppose!
I drive the car on the good days and keep it in on the bad, I treat it like it has 30 miles on the clock for now. They just simply don’t make this breed of car anymore and I’ve always loved the British GTs. I plan on having the XK all set and sound mechanically and cosmetically for my 30th birthday, I’m giving myself the time to be able to have anything and everything addressed the right way.
Thanks all, and I’m sure I’ll be seeking the help and advise of many here on the forum!

Hello, Mike,
No, they don't make cars like that anymore. Now you have to memorize your plate number to know which one is yours. Not so with those Elderly Jaguars!

Welcome to the forums from ElinorB.

Thank you guys! I just got the car back from service, I made a post in the XK forum but for those who replied and are curious...
Front lower control arm bushing. $573
Front upper control arm $1776 (heh)
Front pads and rotors $926
Front tires (uneven wear inside tire, alignment is also listed here)
Rear Diff Seals. $527
VVT Seal Leak $147

Ill be continuing the thread in the XK forum but it didn’t come out horrible! I was expecting far worse from an almost 200,000 mile car.

Thank you guys so much.

A lot of opportunities for savings there. I see you are already getting good advice in the XK forum thread.
