Hi everyone, first post. I live in Norfolk, UK and currently have a 2005 X Type Sport 2.0D

It was a high miler (160k miles) when I bought it in 2009 and was great for about 3 years but then started to develop running problems. I have replaced the engine with one claimed to have done 82k miles but also ended up replacing the fuel pump and injectors. It has now developed another problem which is defying the garage. When I accelerate it goes into limp home/safe mode when the glow plug light flashes and at times the engine management light comes on. I have also recently changed the air filter and had the fuel filter changed. I believe the last fault code the garage found was low pressure (fuel I guess) when they reset the injectors (again).

Separate, but maybe connected it also kicks out black smoke when accelerating which seems common looking at the back of other x type diesels, but would love to get rid of this too.

Any suggestions, guidance and moral support welcome!

welcome to the forum - sorry to hear the cat ails but check out the Xtype section for how tos and great support. Hope you can get quick resolution to be able to enjoy that cat again

Follow Norri's link to the X-Type section for help, advice and information. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top there is a good place to start for info on regular issues. You'll get better advice if you post actual DTC codes rather than the descriptions your garage has given.

Remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.
