Newbie after info…..pre production XK8
Hello.
i’m new here and after some experts to help me out in my investigations….and hoping to get someone a car!
I have the option to take possession of, what I’ve been told, is a pre production 2005 XK8 (registered 12/12/2005) - maybe a press car? It’s a silver 4.2 auto coupe. It has 40k miles.
does anyone have info on the press drive fleet for the launch of the mk2 XK8.

The last of the steel bodied XK8 (X100) came off the line on 27th May 2005. The first of the new aluminium bodied XK (X150) came off the line on 19th December 2005 - a silver Coupe with charcoal interior which was handed over to Jaguar Heritage Trust.
Jaguar Customer Relations in Coventry may be willing to provide information on a pre-production or development model if you have the VIN. Available records show Jaguar produced 413 X150 vehicles in 2005:
197 - 4.2 XK Coupe
204 - 4.2 XKR Convertible
5 - 3.5 XK Coupe
7 - 3.5 XKR Convertible
The 3.5 versions have never been reported as being released by Jaguar.
