After years of admiring the F-Type, I'm finally in a place in my life where I was able to pull the trigger and give one of these sweet babies a home in my driveway. Not only is it one of the most beautiful cars on the road, IMHO, but the driving experience is beyond what I imagined. I opted to break the bank and go for the R variant, and I'm so glad I did.
I'm in Northern California where the winters are pretty mild, so if it's above 55° (which is most days), I've got the top down and a big smile on my face. I still have to pinch myself occasionally to make sure it's not just a dream!
As for me, I'm a 63 year old contractor in the Northern California Bay Area. My first car, at the tender age of 17, was a 1967 Mustang. That was followed by a 1969 Camaro so as you can imagine I fell in love with performance cars early on. Like many of you probably, I went through stages of my life where sports cars were just not practical, the family mini van was a must have for many years, but the kids are grown and out of the house so I'm now back to my original passion.
I don't know if there's any Jaguar groups that meet up locally, but if there are I would love to meet up.
