Default Newbie Intro.

Hello. Here is my attempt to fall into line and play by the rules.

I firstly apologize for failing to read the rules before posting. I went a posted the car I want so very badly without realizing this was a no-no. I now understand why and I am SORRY.

I am a total car freak and have been for almost all my life. Jags are one of the marques I love most, and right now, 2004-2007 XJ's represent what I consider to be hands-down the best value in automobiledom today, and I plan on buying one in the next few months.

I live in Dallas, am a married father of 4 wonderful children, and even they are now fans of Jaguar automobiles.

Thanks for putting up with me.

Travis

Welcome, even if late! If you're shopping a good Jag check out texascarsdirect.com. They're a broker and right in your neighborhood and have top quality cars off lease. I've had to travel miles and miles to buy cars from them for my clients. No affiliation with these guys, except as a client.

All the best,

Hi Travis, n welcome to the site officially.
Thanks for the belated intro...nice one and full of good info too.

I did see your post previously ( or rather had my attention drawn to it ) as it did indeed look very spam like.
I however, wasn't 100% convinced and decided to let it run and keep a close eye on developments. You've probably made a very wise decision to post up this intro and hopefully we can all move on from here.

Please accept my apologies and also on behalf of any member you feel may have been a " bit off " with you.....This was only down to the fact that they saw the post and thought SPAM!
We've had some issues in the past and so can be a little wary sometimes.

Anyhow, I do hope you enjoy the site Travis AND get the car that you want.....No doubt we'll read about it

Hello Travis. I am also new here. I have a brother in Dallas. Next time you see him say hello for me. I'm not sure what caused the stir but I forgive you. I'm not just saying that to get to my tenth post either. I really forgive you. (TEN!)

Hi Travis, good to see that you came back. This time please accept a proper welcome to the forum from me.

I too, hope that you eventually hook up with the Jaguar that you want. They are out there.

In the mean time enjoy the forum, and happy hunting.

+1 on texascarsdirect. We bought both jags from them and the cars were extremely clean and competitively priced. Good luck!

Thanks very much all for the welcome.

Riddle me this regarding Texas Cars Direct: I am off-put by their practice of "scheduled to arrive on such and such a date" in their listings. I have been selling stuff for over 20 years, and I got in trouble a LONG time ago for selling stuff I didn't have yet. I have seen numerous ebay listings for cars that I can't go inspect yet because they aren't available yet. How can I bid on a car that I can't touch? We've referred in the past in other industries to such practices as "Broker Smoke"......"yeah, that's your price buddy. Give me a week and I'll get it for you".

For example, they are listing a 2007 XJ8 on ebay in listing 380281872277, ESTIMATED TIME OF ARRIVAL 11/24.

I understand that they have inventory on their lot and all that I can go view and buy, but I've never seen another dealer that sells stuff they don't have.
