Default Newbie Intro...and need help

Hi Guys
Good to be aboard...will start with a little history:
New to Big Cat ownership, with a 1989 XJS HE (photos in gallery). Previous owner has upgraded with comp AJ6 (no haters please) mech kit, believe she was a Jap market import and has 80K kms on the clock, so i have a good base for Aust conditions...(heat and loooong highway drives).
Have plans to drive her alot in the next 3mths and then do a few 'tasteful' resto-mod style upgrades, but have changed out ski slope (thanks to British Autowood), upgraded to 17" wheels (photos to come) and am in process of LED interior work. Next step front susp upgrade (bushes and sway bar...so wish me luck)

Now for the question...i have just bought a Nardi wood steering wheel but the adapter supplied (from manufacturer) appears to be incorrect size, despite great detail supplied.

After deep Google-ing, i have noticed there is an issue with this regularly due to a number of spline changes through model(s)...

Can anyone give me some guidance here...or tell me how they sourced correct parts please????

Welcome to the forum Westweiz,

Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.

I've moved your first post from the end of CoxynotKirsty's Intro to a new Intro thread of your own.

Follow this link XJS - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to the XJS forum for help, advice and information.
The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for info on regular issues.

Please remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

I think you are in South Australia. If so, follow this link Australia - South / NT - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum
to find other members in your region.

Enjoy the forums.

Graham

Welcome from me too

Sounds like you have had a Jag before going by your post.

Aust? Is that for Australia or Austria? Assume Oz which then leads to where you might be,big Island this one.

Sorry no help on the splines, out of expertise but I'm sure the XJS mob will know.

Glad you joined and hope you get your answers,Neil

Welcome to the forum, I'll take a punt and say Western Australia or a Queenslander!
WA because of the plastic "Roadbend Jag" rego plate frames or Queensland because of the Queensland rego plates. And that is fairly recent Qld rego combo. (1 1/2-3 years old)

Good detective work Clarke.
And the 'West' part of this lucky man to own an XJ12 could be a clue too.

Taking it from the top...

Certainly a PROUD Aussie...residing in QLD, but a Cockroach at heart!!! (Clarke's detective work a good sign for future queries for sure)

First time Jag owner, but quickly understanding it wont be the last (or only) and 'knowledge' has only been from Web searches at this stage.

History of XJS appears to be WA (Grey) import from Jap market and has been mildly restored (Paintwork and interior parts...not the greatest job to be honest) before making her way to sunny QLD and a life on the GC.
