Been lurking for a number of years now, but thought it was time to go ahead and get registered. A little about me - Live in Charlotte, NC (NASCAR country!)but was born in Scotland. Which would explain my penchant for British cars. I have owned a several Jags in the past (XJ6, XJ8, XJ8 vdp) as well as a Lotus Esprit V8. My father and I currently have a MKII that we have owned for almost 20 years. I'll post some pics up when I get to a place where I can lay hands on them.
It sounds like you've already found your way to the MKI / MKII S type 240 340 & Daimler forum so there's no need for a link to it from me. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues. You can also use the US Lower Atlantic Region forum by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/u...r-atlantic-66/ to find other members in your region.
If you haven't done so already you should add your car details to your signature to help others to help you.

Finally found some pics of the VDP - what a lovely car. And just to prove what a masochist I am for British hardware, I've thrown in a couple shots of the Esprit for good measure
And an extremely bad pic of the MkII. We've owned the car for 15+ years, and the family friend we bought it from had owned it since the late 70's / early 80's. When it came to the states, the previous owner used it to tow a bugeye Sprite race car to SCCA races in southern California. It drove cross country in the mid 90's (towing the Sprite!) where it was stored away in the garage and slumbered peacefully until we got it. We very quickly got her up and running again and started freshening the car up, but due to dad's health she has slept in the garage for the past decade.or so. I recently moved her for the first time as my dad moved house and it has re-inspired me to do something with this car.
I'll need to dig up some pics that actually do the car justice.
Yeah, I'm yet to find anything more than surface rust on it. Makes sense since it has spent the vast majority of it's life in California and North Carolina.
