Default Newish Member 2015 F Type R

After a year long search I finally picked up a 2015 F Type R just yesterday from Carmax. Not promoting Carmax at all (Never thought I would buy a car like this from them) but they currently permit a 24 hour test drive and 30 days to return no questions asked as long as you stay under 1500 miles. The 24 hour test drive was awesome, brought the car home and took off all the under-body plastics and spent a couple hours visually inspecting everything. Only concern I found was some evidence of the orange coolant around the TVS roots blower, assumed a busted cooling pipe at some point. No other leaks and no corrosion on the metal parts Tata did not coat properly. Only visually saw the Ford Motor Co logo on the stock headers, I was expecting to see more from Ford but it is fairly tight in there. I plan to have Jaguar inspect the car during this 30 day period and have the brakes weighed because good lord they can be expensive. My first mod was taking off the Carmax logos LOL

I've found this forum as well as a few of the forum youtubers to be incredibly useful with everything I needed to know about this car. So a quick thank you from me. Here's a intro pic. Salsa Red. Really wanted IRR but the market has been pretty bare locally in Nor CA. I'm also way too picky.

I've been a fan of the F Type for years just was out of my personal mental price limit, Finance major I get stupid about financial decisions. Went skydiving years ago and outside of the skydive location was an Orange F Type, it was my first time skydiving, everything that day was "well if I survive today I want to do this..." Naturally, getting an F Type one day was one of those things. I ended up in a 6 speed Camaro ZL1 instead, which to be honest I loved that car a lot. Had a good run until a moron rear ended me on the freeway in stop and go traffic, I was stopped he was trying to go around me. But then I lucked out with an awesome Turo rental in Hawaii just over a year ago, Black 2014 F Type convertible. Rented it for the entire week and it was a blast. Got me back into it. Been itching for one since.

Any advice on front bumper/valance repair? I found the radiator under-body piece for about $200 online. I also have the sticky button issue, pretty gnarly, going to work on those today. And if for any wild chance someone knows anything about this southern California transplant please let me know. Thanks

Good to have you with us.

It sounds like you've already found the F-Type forum so there's no need for a link to it from me. You can also use the US Western Region forum by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/us-western-38/ to find other members in your region.

Please read the guidance for new members ( https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/n...ned-up-241802/ ) which answers many of the most frequent questions about getting started.

Enjoy the forums.
