Howdy youins, Chip "Cyclops" from Missouri. Got my first Jag delivered to me three weeks ago and I'm picking through issues. 2001 XKR coupe, 120,000 miles and runs quite well. Transport guy got here, spoke terrible English and the car had a dead battery. We finally found out how to get into the truck...after trying unsuccessfully for a long time to remove the rear seat for battery access. Thanks to this forum, I found out about the hidden keyhole. Got it jump started and never gave a hard reset a thought. Christmas Eve I topped off with gas, got about five miles down the road, check gas cap came up on the info screen, shut it off, reset the gas cap, thought all was good, nope, went into limp to a parking spot mode. I unhooked the battery, discharged any residual voltage, let it set a bit, hooked the cables up and fired right up. I did the hard reset on Christmas, WOW! It really woke up. Now to find a scan tool that can connect to the car. My Actron can't connect. Wow, I rambled. Oops. Thanks for having me here.
