OLD Newbie
Greetings from Western Pennsylvania (Yinzerville)
I landed here to gain insights and have a resource when I have questions. I have been lurking for a while too Making up my mind to pull the trigger on my most recent reason for buyer regret (now fading btw).
Just yesterday, I picked up a new (for me) 2011 XK (X150) Convertible. 60K miles, always maintained at Jag Dealer and priced right at under $16K Now I can't drive it cause its wet, cold snowy and icy roads. My new Cat will be staying indoors until conditions improve. Which might be 4 months. A lot of people have asked, at least with their eyes or attitudes Why would I, a retired old car guy and grandfather, buy such a car? Four reasons: It's a Convertible, It was Affordable (for now), It's Beautiful, and for me It's very Nostalgic. Decades ago my last Jag was a yellow XKE. I did not then really appreciate that car as it deserved but it was fun as heck to drive and be seen driving. I have and still do think the E-types are the most beautiful ground-bound machine ever built by man! (I can't afford one now) My 2011 XK has just enough similar lines to remind me of those days of years past, and it's one beautiful car to behold and to drive. (what little I have got to drive it yet)
So here I am. In between, I've owned a lot of different cars and trucks, one of almost every generation of Ford Mustang, a Sunbeam Alpine, an MG which I rebuilt from a basket case, I have almost always had a convertible at least as the third car in the family. I missed having one even tho here in Pittsburgh, the second most cloudy, rainy city in the US, the days to really enjoy one might be few. I at least now have one and will still enjoy driving it even with the top up. Besides, at this age, it might be now or never; we can't know. Life is too short to drive boring cars.
I hope I don't need to come here too often but after doing some more searching through the threads, I might be posting my first couple of questions seeking advice very soon.
Thanks to all in advance.

Hello, John son of Harold,
Boy Howdy are you preaching to the choir in here!
For example,NONE of my cars have Ever been boring (well, except for that Ford Windstar van we called Wart, that I was Forced to herd while between Fun cars, but I found ways to even make driving that thing memorable) and that goes for the current lot!
Welcome to the forums from ElinorB.
