I am Dennis living in Lumberton NC. I've had 2 Jags, the first was a 1956 xk 140, or 150 I don't remember which. I paid $250.00 for it, that thing would go! I got 2 engines with. which was good because I burned a valve in the first one, so took the head off the other one to get going again. It also blow the rear exhaust manifold gasket which heated up the fire wall so much the interior of the car caught fire with me in it. (80 mph in second gear) Long time ago. I now have a platinum 2003 XK8 with a few problems. It run like it has a rev limiter on it because at 3000 rpm's it starts to miss fire and will not go any faster. restricted performance is what the little window tell me. That little window also tell me my lights are off, of coarse I already know that because its in the day light. I still like it any way. I put a new fuel pump in it, which helped the starting a lot. The Jag dealer wanted $1500.00 and change. I got it done for $800.00 by a local shop.

You need to get a code reader on the vehicle to determine exactly what is causing the restricted performance. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for info on regular issues.

Please remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.
