2004 XJR, 44k miles, metallic green exterior/cream interior, no accidents, one owner, always dealer serviced, never seen snow or salt. And silly fast. It's my third Jaguar, and without a doubt the best built of the three. Even at 16 years old, its only issues are a sagging headliner and fogging headlights.
My former DD (a 1994 XJ6 [XJ40]) was IMHO gorgeous, with nearly perfect proportions, though the X350 is not bad and beyond doubt a better body in every measure. The XJ6 was that rich metallic red, tan interior. Slightly confining; Jaguar liked to say "you don't sit in a Jag, you wear it", but that's marketing. Very smooth driving experience, good handling. Reliability was good but not great; it stranded me a few times, but over 15 years of ownership that's not too bad.
The '92 XJS V12 was marvelous, but also heavily modified. I had Shafi Keisler put in a Tremec T5 manual transmission and an underbody X-brace, beefed up the suspension, poly bushings all around, installed an AJ6 big bore stainless exhaust, opened up the intakes, and improved the engine cooling system. After that it was impossible to drive without a big grin; it ran, handled and sounded so much better than stock, and the sound of that V-12 under full throttle was unforgettable. But to be fair, those changes made it into a big sports car, not the refined grand touring car Jaguar intended it to be. Reliability was decent, though the V12 distributor caps never lasted very long. Beautiful, fun car but increasingly hard to get out of.
I can see you've already found your way to the X350 forum so there's no need for a link to it from me. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues. Many people simply do Not understand that Jaguars choose their owners not the other way around. However, as this is your Third one, I'm sure you have a good handle on that concept.
