Default Rapid acceleration

I’ve read of many whose unintended rapid acceleration is a dangerous problem. What is the solution??

Welcome aboard......a little bit of info on your vehicle would probably help.

I’ve had the 2006 XJ8 since new-177,000 miles. The acceleration problem started several years ago. I have my hand always on the neutral mode to cope. Many trips to Jaguar. “Never heard of this problem. It’s the way you drive. No jag dealer has reported this situation.”

Hello,
I'm sorry your Jaguar wants to run away with you. If you haven't already found your way there, someone will be along shortly to direct you to the correct section where other members with your same model can help you.

Welcome to the forums from ElinorB.

Welcome to the Forums.

Members in the XJ8/XJR (X350) Tech Section will have answers I am sure.

Good luck.

One of my V12's did that, kind of scary.

Welcome to the forums mrgolf,

That kind of surge is not unknown on the late XK8's so I don't see why a Jaguar Dealer would not have heard of it. I'm not familiar with the X350 but members with the same model should be able to help. Follow this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...-x350-x358-28/ to the X350 forum for help, advice and information. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues. You can also use the US Midwest Region forum by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/us-midwest-39/ to find other members in your region.

Please read the guidance for new members ( https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/n...ned-up-241802/ ) which answers many of the most frequent questions about getting started.

Enjoy the forums.

Graham
