Rejoined after long hiatus
I just purchased a salvage 2004 xjr and also am an owner of an xj40 so, yes, I like to be tortured. Am a bit disappointed in the x350 so far, the compressor won’t activate, the pedals only move a little, a lug bolt spins but won’t come off and now I’ve read about the valley hose, wtf have I gotten into? Purchased coil overs cheap and they’re being delivered next week but I’m not looking forward to the work. All the belly pan fasteners are rusted, cheap garbage on an expensive car. My e46 bmw has all stainless fittings. The headliner is drooping and some of the paint is bubbling. I’m thinking of getting it in decent shape, having some fun with it and unloading it in the fall for a nicer n/a version. The ‘91 xj40 is in much better condition but it’s a turtle. I’m on Long Island and will be doing the work on my back in the driveway, fun times ahead!

Hello,
I suppose a case could be made that ALL of us who work on Jags, or indeed even OWN one, like to be tortured.
I say, our spouses or significant others Always know where we are -- Out in the shop under the car or under the dash.....
