Arrow Another New (clueless) Owner

Good evening, everyone. My name is Quan and I'm probably the most white-washed Asian in existence. I'm married with three kids (human children, not automobile children) and I have no idea what else to say about myself.

I'm a new owner, as of yesterday, of a 1988 Jaguar Sovereign, which apparently is what they call it in North America. The 'upgraded' XJ6 they say, which looks the same to me except it has hideous, rectangular lights. It's the first Jaguar I've owned and it's interesting and seems quite complicated. Ridiculously comfortable and way too man options to figure out. I like it.

It is a beater car, but I think it's in perfect condition for a restoration project. It has 268,000 kilometres on the clock, but she still purs and drives true.

However, being 27 years old now, it obviously has issues, which is how I ended up finding this forum and the wealth of knowledge within. Once I find the appropriate section of the forum I'll be picking your brains for sure.

Welcome.

Yep, Elinor has nailed it, the XJ40 section is where that car hangs out.

At that mileage it is barely run in, so it will be with you for a very long time yet, trust me.

Welcome to the forum Quan,

Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.

I agree with you on the rectangular headlights. We had the quad light option in Europe which looks much better in my opinion.

Follow this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/xj40-xj81-25/ to the XJ40 forum for help, advice and information.
The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for info on regular issues.

You can also visit the Canada Region forum by following this link Canada - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum
to find other members in your region.

Enjoy the forums.
