Default Replacing lift-glass in '05 X-Type Estate

'Very long story made very short: the lift-glass in the hatch of my '05 X-Type Estate was recently completely shattered ~ this was the only damage to the car. I finally found a replacement glass in a salvage yard, and took it to my local mechanic to install. The original latch is still attached to my car, even-though the glass is all gone. My mechanic cannot get it to release, so that the new glass can be installed. I suspect that the power to the latch came from the glass-side of the assembly, but he does not. Any hints/directions/schematics would be most helpful. He found schematics online for everything but the rear glass. I joined this forum to ask this question, so forgive me if I've overlooked any obvious helps or solution. Thank-you!
Thomas

Welcome to the forums Thomas,

Not exactly a regular issue but I'm sure members with the same model will be able to help.

Follow this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x-type-x400-14/ to the X-Type forum for help, advice and information. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues. You can also use the US Mid Atlantic Region forum by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/us-mid-atlantic-65/ to find other members in your region.

Please read the guidance for new members ( https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/n...ned-up-241802/ ) which answers many of the most frequent questions about getting started.

Enjoy the forums.
