Default Restricted performance

I have a 2007 Jaguar STR and lately the restricted performance light keeps coming on at speeds over 100km/hr but then eventually it'll go off again when the car is travelling at a low speed. This keeps happening alot I just wanted to know what would be the problem??

From one S-type owner to another... Welcome. The S-type forum is populated with a very friendly group and contains a wealth of knowledge.

Your catalytic converters are partially plugged. My guess... but I spect I'm right.

Welcome to the forums Dwayne,

The quickest way to find out is to get a code reader on it.

I can see you've already found your way to the S-Type forum with other questions so there's no need for a link to it from me. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues.

Please add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

Enjoy the forums.

Graham

In that case would I have to replace the catalytic converter or can I try some catalytic cleaning products first?

It's a possibility BUT throwing parts at a Jaguar soon gets VERY expensive. You can guess or you can do systematic troubleshooting.
