Default Running from the 'Pruning'

Well, I was going to defer the introductions until I had something to say - like "I just bought an XKR" or similar...
However, the Webmaster is threatening 'Pruning' of non-posters like a hockey-masked chainsaw-bearing madman in a cheap Halloween horror flick !!!!

Actually, I quite understand.

I had a wonderful 93 XJ-S convert from 97 to 2003, and only sold it when we moved.
'She who must be obeyed' has never forgotten, so the search for a XK or XKR has started. Either a 2003-2006 (ie 4.2) or perhaps a 2007. Not sure yet.
But the search is most of the fun I think...

Jeremy - in Central Florida

Welcome Jeremy!
I'm quite fond of my XJS convertible (my wife however..is not) so you're fortunate to have a spouse who is Jag-compatible!

Jeremy,
I hope you escape this awful fate - I don't imagine it would be anything other than messy.
Welcome to the forum and go for an XKR!

A belated welcome to the forum Jeremy,
The chain saw is now back in the woodshed and your lurker licence has been extended.
You're right about the search being fun. To prevent future disconnection threats, you could always post about progress or ask questions in the XK8/XKR or XK section from time to time.......

Welcome to the forum Jeremy,

Good to have you with us.

Fine advice above.

If you haven't done so already you should add your car details to your signature to help others to help you.

Thanks for all the welcomes.
I'm not reclusive - honestly ! I've been on all kinds of Forums since the dial-up days, but only post when I have something useful to add, or questions.
I'll probably be prodding the XK/XK8 denizens with a stick once we've zeroed-in on some likely cars.

Wow - thanks for that. Looks like you've swapped the chainsaw for a beer, and the hockey mask for Mr. Rogers cardigan !!

Talking Taken the Plunge

Lurker / Wanna-be no more !
Just acquired a 2008 XK convertible in Radiance Red / Tan Interior. Absolutely immaculate with only 6K miles. In 5 YEARS !. I couldn't control myself that well.

It was owned by a resident of 'The Villages' - a stereotypical Florida retirement community where everyone rides around in golf carts

If it's half as reliable and fun as my XJ-S (and I'm sure it'll be better than that) I'll be very pleased

Default Pictures, and the Dave Barry test

Gotta keep the Mods in 'Dr Jekyll' not 'Mr Hyde' mode...

Got her home, and started the servicing the next day. Who-da thought you need to take the wheel off to replace the air filter ??

And the Dave Barry 'Real Man Test' is:
A Spaceship lands near you and an alien gets out and hands you a small strange-looking device, then leaves. He tells you that it can cure all diseases and bring about everlasting World Peace.
Do you:
a. Take it to the President of the United States ??
b. Take it to the Secretary-general of the United Nations ??
c. Take it apart ???

The answer's pretty obvious, really.
