Red face San Antonian 2001 vanden Plas

Hola, My name is Kenneth Lopour, I wanted to Thanks in advance with all your wisdom, as I am completely baffled with this Automobile.
My wife Helen and I bought a 2001 Mint Vanden Plas back in 2004. We have kept it serviced and it is my wife's jewel car.
She is an upper legal claims adj. and I have a Security Gate Service.
Our Jag was so cool until we let our Ace mechanic get his hands on it and
then she was never the same. Story is too long and ugly for both parties, but the jag suffered the most. Sorry got raped once by our dealer won't do that again, so.... here I am looking for advice wisdom, experience and a helping hand . I used to be a pretty good Chevrolet certified mechanic, but other doors opened and I didn't keep up, and this little kitty we own has lots of electronics. Above my pay grade to just dive in. Have looked at many posts and have enjoyed them greatly.
So we have changed all the wheel bearings.
Rebuilt the suspension.
Insurance put a complete new engine in it in 2007.
Car was re-painted same color Deep Emerald Green 2012.
Car sat in the mechanics shop for 18 months awaiting transmission wire to be repaired.
Got it back and it ran so poorly that even after $1800.00 tuneup including replacing Battery, coils, plugs, air filter. I'm frustrated.
Anyway hope I can fit in and be of a help too.

Welcome to the forum Kenneth,

Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.

I can see you've already found your way to the X308 forum so there's no need for a link to it from me.
The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues.

Please remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

You can also visit the US Southwest Region forum by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/us-southwest-37/
to find other members in your region.

Enjoy the forums.

Graham
