Default Sat Nav ,'HOME " LOCATION is in another country 300 miles away

Hi
My name is George. I live in W of Ireland. Have always had love of jags.Had a Daimler, and Xj 6 in the 80's
Both were abused when I got them and so they caused endless trouble

I have returned to jags again having bought a 2013 JAG XF SPORTSBREAK..,which is a v pleasant car to drive
My prob concerns the sat nav system. It was working fine when I got the car ,however I have managed to glitch it somehow and now it shows my home location to be in Brussels.
I have tried deleting HOME location and entering my actual home address. I have tried deleting POI s to get it to recognize my home address.
No matter what I try it invariably starts its journey from Brussels, tells me I have insufficient fuel to get there: theninimising the map it shows Ireland as a red blob to the extreme right of screen, then it shows the route crossing Atlantic twice -Europe to UK.. UK to Ireland.
Can anyone please help me.
I have RTFM but it eludes me.
I I would be v appreciative if you could help me

Welcome.

Mine did that, as it picked up SA, as South Africa, not South Australia, close, but a tad out. Spelling it out finally sorted "her" out, but it took time.

It was not a factory unit, so I dont have an answer for yours.
