Second Time Around
HI,
I want to introduce myself as a "second round member". I had a 2004 XK8 back in 2009 -2012. Unfortunately, I wrapped it around a tree and have been in mourning ever since. I went to the "dark side" by purchasing a MB 500SL and just recently gave that up. So I just took possession of a Anthracite Metallic 1999 XK8 convertible with 58 k miles. I was leary about the 1999 because of the Nikasil, but was convinced by a few of your esteemed members that if it has lasted 58k miles, its probably good to go. The PO had done new top hydraulic lines, metal tensioners, new brakes, tires and even had it detailed the day before I picked it up. Not too shabby. Anyway, I'm rambling. Looking forward to participating. Oh, BTW I live in Anaheim Hills, North Orange County, California.

Stuttgart is always there, and "the dark side" is appropriate.
Down here, those Nikasel engines are NEVER started and shut down without running up to normal temps, and we have many in our group, some nudging 300K kms, but that "Golden Rule" is still adhered to.

Please remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.
