Selling Mom's Old Car / Introduction
Hello all,
My mom passed away about 10 years ago, and my sister and I held onto her old car, which by the looks of it was a 1995 Rose Bronze Metallic Jaguar XJ Vanden Plas. I am not entirely positive about that, but when I find the Google images that's the car. It was the special edition rose color that was only offered for a year, and that model I mentioned looks visually a perfect match to the car. I just am not sure if there were other models that also looked identical to that.
My sister and I have no clue about the value of the car, and we need to make sure it starts up, maybe do some basic mechanical things to it. It has slightly under 20,000 miles on it, so extremely low mileage for such an old car.

Any chance you can post a few pics for our enjoyment and assistance? You will have NO trouble selling it I assure you, and I would suggest posting it here where you're sure to let it go to someone who will care for it properly and appreciate it.
Welcome.
Not sure from my market, it is different.
Graham, GGG, will slide by soon and give the instructions etc needed to assist with selling it.
It is probably????? what is known as an X300 in Jaguar talk, soooooo, that tech section would be the place to get advice.

Welcome to the forum Jonathan,
Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.
If it's definitely a 1995, it will be an XJ6 six cylinder like this:

This is referred to as an X300 to distinguish it from the many other models Jaguar also badged as XJ6! Follow this link XJ XJ6 / XJR6 ( X300 ) - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to the X300 forum for help, advice and information. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues.
If it's the earlier model XJ6, it will be like this:

This was still being sold in the US in 1995. Follow this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/xj40-xj81-25/ to the XJ40 forum.
Please remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

Apologies for my extremely late reply, the car is at my dad's house and he has been out of town since early January. He escapes the cold weather to Cabo and Newport Beach (must be nice)! I'm headed to his house Sunday for dinner and I'll try to get some pictures.
I was also hoping my sister would have gotten the VIN by this point to look up the model information so I can be more exact about what the thing is.
It's definitely the first of those pictures in GGG's post and not the second. It has a 6 cylinder engine I know that, front of the car isn't as grill-heavy as the second picture.
I will get full details and pictures so I can provide a better idea here
Maybe there is someone on the forum who wants it, though wouldn't shipping the car somewhere else be very difficult and expensive given what it is? I mean I don't imagine it's worth that much money, but it'll be better in some collector's hands than it will be in ours where we don't really see, appreciate, or use the car.
