'Service Required' reset.
I have a 2013 (Sept) XF Sportbrake (200bhp). Having completed the full service early last week, I set about clearing the 'Service Required' reminder from the dash. I followed the detailed instructions on You Tube and this Forum without success. This is not a criticism of the contributors who have tried to resolve this problem, but there is clearly a different Modus Operandi required, perhaps due to different software updates.
From what I've read here, many of you, like me, have spent more time trying to remove this message than they spent carrying out the service. Over the weekend I managed to clear my message working in a slightly different order. Read this through first to familiarise yourself with the procedure, as timing is paramount.
1 Close all doors/bonnet/hood/trunk/tailgate/boot. Seated in the drivers seat, ensure the Ignition is OFF and your feet are on the floor - not on the pedals.
2 Press the Rear Fog Light switch and keep it depressed whilst turning the Ignition ON.
3 Immediately the Ignition sequence commences, release the Rear Fog Light switch and press the Trip Button on the end of steering column stalk and keep it depressed for a further 15 seconds. Turn the Ignition OFF
When I did the above, the Ignition sequence skipped the 'Service Required' message and booted-up as it would normally ie. no messages such as 'Service Reminder Reset' etc. etc.
I hope this 'variation-on-a-theme helps some of you out there.

Hello, Paul,
WOW! Congratulations on your Very Successful Jaguar Reboot!
This sort of thing keeps me out of cars newer than about 2010, when they became Rolling Computers instead of plain old ordinary Motor Cars.
Welcome to the forums from ElinorB.
