Default Sheltoncar

When I purchased my flamenco red '95 VDP in 2011 it had 79,000 miles on the odometer. It was manufactured for the American market and I live in Canada. I had to have daytime running lights activated, new tires and a wheel alignment. Otherwise, apart from the common problem of the non-working clock, the car was deemed to be in good shape by the mechanics who did the required inspection prior to registration in British Columbia. The car performed faultlessly on a 2,500 mile trip to Santa Rosa, CA in 2012 - a most enjoyable experience. Subsequently, excluding routine maintenance, the throttle potentiometer and the traction control throttle valve actuator/position sensor were replaced because the car was experiencing what I termed a transient loss of drive output in which, for a second or two, there was a loss of motive power but the engine did not stop. The owner of the service garage said he had not encountered this problem before. I also had the headliner replaced. The odometer now reads 93,000 miles. For the first two years it was not my daily driver. For health and family reasons, I no longer make long trips. I am not able to do any work on the car but I do like to read the posts on Jaguar forums about issues that members are dealing with and I think it's great that so many members respond with words of advice.

93,000 miles is just well broken in! That car should give you another 150,000 easily with proper maintenance. Someone will be along soon to direct you to the correct section where you can find all the help and advice you need to do that.

Welcome to the forums from ElinorB.

Welcome to the forum Sheltoncar,

Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.

I can see you've already found your way to the X300 forum so there's no need for a link to it from me.
The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues.

Please remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

You can also visit the Canada Region forum by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/canada-73/
to find other members in your region.

Enjoy the forums.

Smile Thank you for your words of welcome

Hello and thank you to all who have welcomed me to the Forum. I'm not sure if I am doing this correctly or whether I should have used the Thanks button. I plan to send each of you a PM in the near future. I look forward to participating more fully in the forum.

Robert

Hello Robert,

The usual and easiest way to thank any member for a post is simply to use the Thanks button but a post or PM is always a more thoughtful method.
