Default steering

Hey all,
I'm new to the forum but not Jags. I bought the first Jag in 77 and we've had one ever since. I realized early when having an issue with the Jag to leave it alone and it will probably fix itself. This one has me bumfuzzled! The steering is stiff like a valve is not operating. I do have some power steering but not like I know it can be. The wife (not a four letter word) likes it like it is, I know it AINT right! This is on the 96 XJ6 V/P with only 137K. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

I read that an intro is a must. I thought I had done so. It's possible I went a wrong direction. Won't be the first!
How do I intro myself if it indeed hasn't been done?
